Overview

The Violation Documentation Project (VDP) is one of the projects of the Justice and Rule of law Program in the Syrian Center for Media and Freedom of Expression (SCM).Since its establishment in 2011, the VDP has been documenting human rights violations as part of an effective transitional justice process, thus enabling victims from all sides to achieve justice, in order to accomplish sustainable peace in Syria. To establish a data center that serves as a reference for  future accountability and justice proceedings in Syria, To raise international awareness about brutal crimes  committed against Syrians,  To reach out to the international mechanisms and   organizations that can influence international decisions  on what is happening in SyriaThe SLP analyzes and concretizes the information with the aim of providing it to competent investigating and judicial authorities whose mandate it is to judge the legal value of the information. On a case by case basis. the SLP may provide information, including witness testimonies and to such authorities as a result of a direct request for information.
