Open Letter to Permanent Representatives to the United Nations in advance of the annual Open Debate on Women, Peace and Security
More than 20 years after the adoption of Resolution 1325, we are deeply troubled by the backlash against WHRDs, women peacebuilders and other civil society leaders,
This open letter was sent to all UN Member States on behalf of 380 civil society organizations across 88 countries in advance of the Security Council Open Debate on Women, Peace and Security (WPS) in October 2021. The letter calls on the UN, Security Council and the Member States to stand with women human rights defenders, peacebuilders and civil society leaders.
