As part of SCM's Justice and Rule of Law Program (JRLP), the SLP works to advance the rights of victims and their participation in the justice process In this regard, the SLP communicates clearly to partner organizations, judicial authorities it cooperates with and witnesses, victims and other sources.
The SLP analyzes and concretizes the information with the aim of providing it to competent investigating and judicial authorities whose mandate it is to judge the legal value of the information. On a case by case basis. the SLP may provide information, including witness testimonies and to such authorities as a result of a direct request for information. Alternatively, it may, with or without partners, assist a witness or victim in bringing a criminal complaint to the competent authority, and accompany such witness or victim in the
